Keep participating in Case Competitions, it’ll help you in understanding what goes behind structuring a solution and presenting it.

It’ll take you atleast 5 case competitions to understand what a proper solution looks like.

They are also a great opportunity for off campus placements/having brands on ur resume.

Some resources which you can refer to:

0. Library of your college has multiple digital accesses, go through that treasure trove first

1. Look out for Refinitiv Eikon/Bloomberg Terminal/Factset for Financial Data (Statements, Peers, Valuation, Broker reports)

2. S&P CapIQ, CRISIL for screening MnA targets, Industry reports

3. IBEF is a free tool to get you Indian Industry reports

4. Marketline: Gives good summaries: SWOT, basic data of company and peers

5. Reports by leading consulting companies (These are a goldmine)

Apart from this do include primary research if possible and try to build MVPs/prototypes for brownie points

#6. Resume Note:

If you are applying off campus, sitting for internships/placements, do remember that the resume is the first thing that the recruiter checks. Some quick pointers for your resume (esp for non tech).

Assuming that your college has a resume format (from superset, reculta and the likes)

1. Use the STAR method of writing points on your resume. Google it, pretty easy. Use ChatGPT to rephrase your normal sentences into STAR format

2. Ensure that the first word if a powerful action word: "Led, Analysed, Performed, Headed, Developed")

3. Fill the complete line - 80-90% minimum.

4. Bold the important points that you want to show

5. Try to include as many numbers as you can. This is tough and might require some practice. Numbers can be your account size, reach, budget of fests, team member size

If your college does not have a format:

1. No need to add your photo, havent ever seen such resumes in IB/Consulting.

2. Use the space wisely, no need to put in flashy graphics, it is okay to follow a neat word doc structure

3. No need to put in summaries / references

(A sample docx was shared with the cohort)
