Will Protein Shakes and Drinkable Lunches Reshape Global Nutrition Trends?
The Indian consumers are gradually making a shift towards healthy supplements and now looking at protein rich diets. Case in point is the new launch of protein packed products by Amul.
While the jury is out on whether protein shakes are healthy or not - the United Kingdom is seeing a new shift with people preferring drinkable lunches over meals.
Companies like Huel, Myprotein and Nu26 are offering powdered formulas and branding them as nutritionally complete. Economically the proposition also makes sense as one drink costs around EUR 1.5 while a Sandwich costs EUR 3.25.
The United States is parading with “Make America Healthy Again” slogans and while the highly debated weight loss drug “Ozempic” is not the first choice of many (Rober F Kenedddy Jr - US health secretary) - these new age nutrition meals do have the potential to shake up the countries.
What trend do we see in India? Not a similar ‘Nutrition replacement’ but PepsiCo’s Sting is being used by many (as per Ken - many e-Rickshaw drivers are using it as a daily meal).
